Stoudemire expected to be out longer than three weeks

Amar'e Stoudemire doesn't understand when he's is a 100% healthy and ready for NBA action.  Or maybe he just happens to get these minor knee injuries because of surgeries done in the past.

Amar'e had lost his explosiveness, but still plays with a lot of heart.  Sometimes he plays with too much heart.  That must have been the reason why he was on the court playing at full speed when he shouldn't have.

Turns out that this busted cyst in his knee will extend his time away from the hardwood.  Reports say he may be out for 4-5 weeks instead of earlier reports of 2-3 weeks.  I am not concerned with the Knicks' chemistry in the absence of Stoudemire.  In fact, I think we have some great role players like Kurt Thomas and maybe the youngster Chris Copeland, can play well at the four-spot.  They do not need attention on the court.

Amar'e needs to be more careful with his body.  He is too anxious to get back on the court.  Stoudemire is hurting his chances of playing at the highest level this year, as he will have to take care of his current injury before making his next move in a Knicks uniform.

What happened to the Amar'e that steamrolled the competition in his first 35 games as a Knick?  The one who played with patience, and made the consistent fifteen-foot jumper.  He needs to understand that they can play without him if he isn't serious about his own issues physically.
